Steroid has a very long term history with Olympics. There are some sportsmen who have been sued due to steroid use. Steroid, actually boosts up them for a short term which increases their performance.

steroids not only provide strength to the muscle tissues,it also provides additional staying power and endurance to the athletes who use it. However its seen that most of the athletes that use the steroids face problems during their old age. The problems may be constricting of blood vessels, damage of tissues effected by steroids etc.
In my opinion its better not to use such steroids in Olympics but rather compete at the athlete’s own performance and stamina.
